In 2005 there were four  requests for mineral exploration by the South African multinational Anglogold Ashanti and four  from  private persons who act as legal representatives of mining companies. Since 2005, 5 mining titles have been awarded to the multinational AGA, that is, there is authorization from the national government for the company to begin the assembly of the mines and exploitation of the La Cuchilla, La Campana, El Alto del Ramal and El Baile hill at the top and at the bottom from El Pulpito hill to El Cajón, on the border with Villanueva and Florencia. Mining pollutes, poisons and uses all the water in the aqueducts, leaving us dry.
